9 September-16 October 2004

Monologues sung in two voices, crying machines and musical cuisine… only at “Literalities Effervescences Magnetisms”, the Gràcia Territori Sonor group’s experimental music festival. The event started eight years ago as the result of an urban intervention project, focusing on art as a medium for societal change – music as a tool for peace. This year’s rendition brings together 160 artists from twelve countries at events held mostly in the Gràcia area. A sampling of the guests: the classically trained singer Mariona Sagarra of Barcelona who now experiments in a contemporary style, ‘People Like Us’ of London who pride themselves on musical thievery and reinvention, Luigi Archetti of Zürich who pushes the limits of guitar reverberation and Fernando Lagreca who leans towards the latest electronic music tendencies such as clicks & cuts, microhouse and techno, and many more not so well-known but worth discovering musicians.

Fernando Lagreca
The original Uruguayan Fernando Lagreca, nowadays residing in Barcelona, delivers a sweet album of south american electronica, yet poppy in it's unconventionality.

Fernando knows how to create dreamy melodies unfolding a melancholic touch with a very minimal setup. Light like a butterfly melodies meet fragile bitcrushed fragments, to create chilly moods with sparse beats. Although the main track itself may surprise with the panned acoustic guitars.

Fernando Lagreca - Suave was released on the mp3 - label "autoplate" which is a sublabel of thinner.

Fernando Lagreca is a musician from Uruguay creating minimal, glitchy soundscapes quite lovely in their precision and detail. If you go here, you can download the entirety of his album, courtesy of his label; the same label offers album downloads for other artists, as well.
